Fessing up

So I was reading Judy’s post on the Q and A today and it was great to read that it’s ‘normal’ to maybe step away a bit when things haven’t been going so well.

So things haven’t been going so well for me – in that I have a choc craving that has taken hold of me …and it won’t let go! lol Thankfully weight gain hasn’t been huge (less than a kg over the past month) however I know that’s down to all the exercise I am doing – so keep reminding myself of what I could be achieving!  What is most disappointing is other than the chocolate I am still eating really really well – I just get to the end of the night and blow it!

With the last challenge I rekindled my love for cooking and it inspired to get my kitchen redone.  Its also rekindled my love of baking and right up until about a month ago I was doing REALLY well, but now with these things in the house (choc buttons) my will power hasn’t been that flash.  But after reading everyone’s comments thought its better out than in and am feshing up! : ) I too am getting more and more comments about how great I look and I don’t need to lose any more weight!  So for some reason it all seems to be a bit of sabotage on my behalf, so if anyone has any good advice in that regard!! : )

On a lighter front my training is going really well and having pulled off a 2 hour run on Sat my hopes of doing Coast to Coast as an individual increased ten fold.  We have the last race of the Kayak race series this weekend and going into this race I am currently standing 3rd overall, so its all on come Sunday and if I do well it places me as one of the top female paddlers in Canterbury my class of boat – so trying to use this as a motivation to fuel my body ONLY with the right food this week – need every kind of competitive advantage LOL

Hope everyone’s weeks going well!

Ciao for now

  1. Hey chick, new kitchen wow!! Youare doing such an enormous amount of excersise!! You are such an inspiration!!. By the way… just who are the chocolate buttons for? hmmm? lol
I’ve already put this on the Q & A but i’ll put it here too. Damian, on an old episode of Downsize Me (he had HAIR!! lol) told a woman to have a pear for sugar cravings, then he said 1/2 a pear with yoghurt would be even better. I’ve been heving 3 dessertspoons of yoghurt, flaked almonds and cranberries all mixed together when I’m looking for a littke something. The thing with the dreaded chocolate fix is that it sets you up for craving more the next time! I found out recently that Cadbury’s are using Palm oil in their chocolate, did you know that it’s also used in shampoo? Would you want to put something in your body that’s used to wash it? Hope that helps!! (and you don’t switch brands to another kind of chocolate altogether!!) lol
Keep up the magnificent efforts. You’re awesome!

  2. Hi Ruth, I’m also still in the same boat, having good days and not-so-good nights… so I’m not at a very helpful point myself, except to say it’s better to have good days and bad nights than bad days and bad nights… and most of all, never give up, we’ll get there! Good on you for all the exercise too! Have a good week :) Desi

  3. Well, you ARE looking great but you know your goal, go for it!!
I am struggling big time. So easy to ignore the healthy options.
    How was your weekend?

  4. Throw out the chocolate! If it is not there you will not eat it and you will be surprised how quickly you will get over the cravings. It is such a shame to spoil your day by eating chocolate last thing.
